In the late 1970s, two U.C Berkeley PhDs with a passion for fine red wine hatched a plan to make limited production, true Bordeaux style artisan red wines in Northern California. Several years of careful research and planning followed, and by 1986, production began on small quantities of their Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which the two friends sourced from Napa Valley’s rugged Mount Veeder Appellation.

Today, wine grower George Rubissow and winemaker Tony Sargent’s handmade wines enjoy acclaim for their elegance, complexity and consistent Mount Veeder terroir. Indeed, the wines are proudly featured in hundreds of America’s finest restaurants and wine shops and have received numerous accolades from the press, wine trade and wine collectors & appreciators in North America, Europe and Japan.
